The School of Visual Art and Design at the University of South Carolina hosts an Artist Residency Program at an off-campus studio space inside of Stormwater Studios.
The SVAD Studio provides essential studio space for students, faculty members, and visiting artists and community members to develop new work, lead workshops, give educational talks, and host exhibitions. We’ve designed our studio to be an ideal working environment for artists to test new ideas and experiment with materials. Our studio space joins the flexibility of a workspace with the simplicity of a gallery to also meet our exhibition needs.
Support for our work is funded through a grant by the John S. and James L. Knight and the Central Carolina Community Foundations.
As a community-facing extension of the School of Visual Art and Design, we highly value diversity and inclusion and aim to enrich and contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the Columbia arts community.
Join us for our openings and exhibitions to learn more about our project and mission.
